OTARI CB-120 AUTO-LOCATOR
New from Otari is the CB-120, a 99 memory autolocator for use with the MX-70 (8
& 16 track) and MX-80 (24 & 32 track) tape recorders.
The CB-120 autolocator makes audio and video production more efficient by
taking over the routine "tape operator" functions of logging and locating
specific locations on the tape. With the optional time code reader/generator
installed, the CB-120 brings the precision of SMPTE time code editing to
auto-record punch-in/out programming. The rehearsal feature allows adjustment
of record insert/exit points in 1 frame increments.
ADDITIONAL CB-120 FEATURES INCLUDE:
- Punch-in rehearse mode allows you to preview the record entry and exit
points, trimming them forward or back until they are artistically correct.
-2 event relays provide the ability to cue additional tape machines or effects
at user-selected tape times or time code addresses.
-Footswitch punch-in/punch out jack included for hands-free op.
-10 direct store/search memories for immediate storage and retrieval of cue
points on the fly without having to manually enter search addresses.
-Repeat function lets you set up a repeat loop around a particular section of
the tape, so you can rehearse inserts without having to attend to the tape
recorder. The repeat function is programmable to stop after 1 to 99 takes.
-Head and tail guard points keep you within pre-defined section of tape.
-Preroll and Review functions make the process of checking and trimming cue
locations automatic. Preroll rewinds the tape a pre-define distance and stops.
Review executes a pre-roll, plays the tape through the cue point, then locates
back to the cue point. The pre-roll and review times are programmable.
-3 user defined function buttons may be programmed to control features such as
Fader Start,Beeper,Event Relay closures and Time
Code Generator start/stop.
-Optional RS-422 interface for serial control of the tape machine, allows the
CB-120 to control the tape machine over RS-422 studio tie lines.
-Search-start locates the tape back to the point at which Play mode was last
inititated.
-Cue shuttle lever for rapid manual program location.
-Built-in hours/minutes/seconds/frames calculator handles time-based addition
and subtractions without tedious decimal conversions.
-Non-volatile memory insures that the cue points you store today will still be
there tomorrow, despite machine power down.
